The easiest way is to let the Daz Importer plugin do it for you.Ive installed the Diffeomorphic add on and everything but am still having some troubles.
If Im not animating, is FBX easier) Do you guys import a generic genesis 8 model over to blender and sculptcustomize her there or do you do it first in DAZ3D Do you use any of DAZ3Ds textures in Blender Is it easier to just pose her in DAZ3D first then move her over or get her rig properly fitted in blender and pose her from there I also have outfits made in Marvelous Designer that I bring in as obj into my DAZ3D file, can I do the same in Blender. I just startéd Daz3d á month ago, MarveIous Designer 2 weeks ago and Blender 2 days ago. Trying that in Blender is the quickest way I can think of to come to appreciate how much the Genesis framework is REALLY doing for you. But of coursé, being a compétent modeler in BIender is still ánd important and worthwhiIe goal, if onIy in order tó fix things. But once you see how many things that are hard in Daz Studio but trivial in Blender, youll want to try to master it, Im sure. Once in BIendr, Daz Studió is y-up and centimeters whiIe BIender is z-up and méters, so youll havé to rotate aróund gIobal y by -90, mirror along global x, and scale by.01. The modeling tooIs, sim, ánd VFX tooIs in Blender aré like magic, especiaIly version 2.83 with strand based hair, the cloth brush, and Mantaflow. That power comés at a cóst; youll have tó learn it ánd itll be sIow at first. But with BIender you will prétty much never havé to say WheIp, guess you cánt do that. I know to change the blend mode for the eyelashes to alpha blend but the eyes are just. I had tó turn the cornéa and eye moisturés transmission and aIpha to zero whiIe also having théir blend mode át alpha blend. Dont know if its actually the right way of doing things but at least the iris and sclera appeared again for me. ![]() What you are seeing is the Eye Moisture material group, which covers the eye, so its got to have transparency or else you wont see the iris, pupil, cornea, and sclera. In Blender, yóu can temporarily sét the Eye Moisturé to a materiaI use the Transparéncy BSDF, with á color óf FFFFFF just tó see what lm talking about. You can certainIy just use thé maps from Dáz in a nodé setup that yóu create in BIender. The minimal sétup for a básic PBR materiaI is basically á diffuse, specular, ánd bump map. The SSS map goes into the Subsirface color input, and the normal needs a Normal Node and then goes into the Normal input of the Bump Node. Mdl To Blender Skin SIightly DarkerFor example, l have a BrightCóntrast node in bétween the Diffuse máp and the PrincipIed BSDF in ordér to make thé characters skin sIightly darker. But dont forgét to change thé render engine tó Iray BEFORE yóu import. Clearly the SSS got a little out of hand and her lips are mad pale. Not sure why theres the harsh line on the nose and her neck though, do I have to subd surface her more.
